Hi, my name is Assegid Habtewold. You can just call me AZ (A to Z).
I’m a Business Broker, CRE Associate, and Investor at eXp Commercial.

V. What was your background before working in commercial real estate?
If you’re like me, you may be wondering and asking what I have been doing before entering the business brokerage and commercial real estate industry. Good question. I’ve been empowering leaders (still do) in diverse industries because of his diverse educational background and work experiences. I worked as a:
- Researcher for an International Research Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
- Software engineer for a multinational corporation in Northern Virginia.
- Trainer for national seminar companies in the US.
- Senior consultant for US management consulting companies.
I’ve over 20 years of international experience as an author, coach, consultant, facilitator, and speaker inspiring, challenging, and equipping leaders in the fields of:
- Health Care/Science,
- IT/Tech,
- Finance/Banking, and
- Real Estate/Investments helping them sharpen their mindset, and develop the necessary skill set, personality, and character to achieve their personal, team, and/or organizational goals.
I’ve been providing coaching in one-on-one and group settings. I also have been facilitating interactive and dynamic personal and leadership development workshops for government agencies, corporations, and community organizations following the latest adult learning principles. I also specialize in designing and delivering leadership development cohort programs for Senior Leaders, Middle Leaders, and Emerging Leaders.
As a certified coach, I conduct one-on-one debriefing and group facilitation based on online assessments such as:
- MBTI,
- EQ,
- DiSC,
- TKI,
- 360, etc.
I’ve designed and delivered stand-alone workshops on soft skills and leadership themes such as:
