How to do business in the US legally through EB-5 Visa that leads to obtaining a Green Card
Even if you’re not a US citizen or permanent resident, you can still do business in the US legally.
In 1990, the USA Congress created a Visa Program called EB-5. The program aimed at stimulating the economy. It was intended to encourage foreign investors to invest capital in the US and create jobs.
In 1992, Congress created the Immigrant Investor Program. This program is also called the Regional Center Program.
USCIS administers this program.
On its website, USCIS explained that this program “sets aside EB-5 visas for those who invest in commercial enterprises associated with regional centers approved by USCIS based on proposals for promoting economic growth.”
The EB-5 Immigrant Investor visa program paves the way for foreign investors to get a Green Card.
Here are a couple of things you should know if you are interested in participating in this program:
- To qualify, a minimum investment amount is required.
- The US government issues thousands of EB-5 visas every year.
